Program Overview

Focus

The Physician Leadership Program is founded on the Leadership Framework guiding all programs launched by the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation. The program is designed to enhance individual leadership capacities and provide leadership tools for influencing organizational effectiveness.

Learning Objectives

  • Apply key leadership theories to assessing and developing one's own leadership style and leadership approaches
  • Utilize MBTI individual assessment findings and enhancement strategies to introduce new and enhanced approaches to decision-making, communication and conflict management
  • Critically analyze health system case studies and propose specific management strategies
  • Develop tools and approaches for leading practices in patient safety and quality
  • Develop negotiating skills and approaches to managing conflict
  • Put in place strategies for leading change, building teams and motivating others
